Hello, I couldn't find what I was looking for in the forum. The H2 has a different gearing/sprocket than the h2r right? What exact translation was chosen for the h2R?

The following question arises for me: The H2R breaks the 400 km/h upper limit with the 18/42 gear ratio. According to measurements from EC. The H2 can “only” achieve 311 km/h (GPS) @13,000 RPM at 18/44 The 18/42 of the H2R are probably pushed up to 14,500 RPM which should reach a top speed of 360km/h (GPS).

How can that be? How does the H2R achieve this high speed with such a small gear ratio? Can someone answer that?

EC Facts about gearing Standard final drive gear 18/44 311 km/h (193mph) @13000 rpm Front sprocket change only 19/44 328km/h (203mph) @ 13000 rpm Highest possible gearing on the factory damper drive and front sprocket 19/41 352km/h (218mph) @13000 rpm Extreme Creations Hyperdrive & 40 teeth sprocket, 19 tooth front sprocket. 19/40 361km/h (224mph) @ 13000 rpm Extreme Creations Hyperdrive & 38 teeth sprocket, 19 teeth front sprocket. 19/38 (22% taller than stock gearing) 380km/h (236mph) @ 13000 rpm Or 410 km/h (254mph) @14000 rpm (Note: this is with an ECU reflash to raise the rev limit)

Are you talking about just raising the rev limiter in the ECU to account for sprocket changes? I have a 2015 H2 and have used 18/44 and 18/42 ratio sprockets without any problem with ABS etc. I have had the ECU Woolich tuned and the rev limit raised slightly but have not needed any change to other sensors etc.
Or am I not reading/missing something?

I have a 1000 SX. THEY are geared too low. On the SX forums they've had trouble when replacing the 50 series back tire with a 55 series. I could see how that would throw a code. I've talked about changing sprockets for taller gearing. Honestly I don't think anyone there has tried it. From what I'm reading here changing sprockets on either the front or back shouldn't pose any problems. Thank You !!!

The 2015 H2 and H2R share the same gearbox (checked the part numbers). Main diffs are sprocket size, rpm limit, cams and ignition timing, and the H2R comes with 190/65 slicks which is a slightly taller tire than H2's 200/55. But can't say this was enough to reach 400km/h. Maybe on Kenan's bike they replaced the sprockets.

Also, the standard H2 is factory locked at 300km/h+ by curbing the ETV - eg. 100% twist grip position is <40% on throttle body.
