It stops it from closing freely as we know it does,and can create a jerking throttle response.It allows the return spring to still work fine,just stops the quick return action.If that spacer is too thick,it will stop the throttle from self closing...you probably don't want that.But a mild friction works fine.It will close by itself with the spacer I have on mine...you can experiment with other thicknesses.I'm waiting for throttlemiester to come out with something.It'd be great to be able to 'lock' the throttle for cruising.
I'd use the one off my 14 IF the bar ends were the same(configuration).Unfortunately...they aren't.
