The factory brochure quotes power at 147.2 kW at 11,000 rpm and then quotes 147.2 kW at 10,000 rpm for SE Asia and Tha. The torque is 133.5 at 10,500 and then it is 140.4 at 10,000 for SE Asia and Tha. Anyone want to speculate on the differences? Do they not use catalytic converters there?

From what I've seen in Asia especially China, they do not use cats. They are the number one producers of smog, toxic gases and greenhouse gases in the world. The people of China wear masks, and breathing apparatuses, when walking around the cities in China, because of the horrendous amounts of smoke, smog and toxic gas, but the rest of the civilized world must pay carbon tax.... ridiculous !!!!
Could be that the ecu is restrcted more, however I am nearly sure that this is why the power tops at 11k yet it revs to 14. It was the exact same thing with my 10r. The U.S. bike no peaked at 11k and the rest of the worlds peaked at 13.5 and with 15 to 20 more ponies, once guhl gets his flash done this thing will make power past 11k mark my words lol. Kawi is predictable I called the low peak power before specs were released. Notice the R builds power to redline---no restriction there.

I think that it is probably due to regulations. They have to make minor tweaks to abide by the differing laws in different regions. Often times it just has to do with the ECU.

Agree, no way the H2 gets federalized for street use if it will continue to punch (and hard) all the way through red line. Kawasaki covering their asses, yet leaving the asylum door unlooked, me thinks :D;)
