Oh dear that's looking bad ! Normally that would be written off with that amount of damage but as the H2 costs £22,000 + are they going to repair it ?
The silver coating must increase the premium on H2 insurance due to it needing replacement bodywork whenever it's scratched / damaged so maybe it's a write off due to panel cost plus the other damage .
With your talk of street fighter , hard tail etc are you entitled to the salvage ?
Silverbird had to pay almost $1000 USD for a mid fairing panel so whatever happens it expensive !

I've seen an improvement that could be made to your tractor inspired exhaust , tractors have a weighted flap to stop water ingress .

Bike was being raced so insurance wouldn't have paid out . What use would another bike that didn't fit me be ? On the up side I've got a fantastic winter build to look forward to . The hard tail chop comment was tongue in cheek . There is a little drain hole at the back of the catalytic converter ,,,,maybe i could collect rain water and sell it as H2 Elixer to fund a new bike ?

Running drag strip. Classic Run What Ya Brung...There is an old school pureness to riding to the event , racing, then riding the bike home afterwards. .Rode up 100 miles , friends took day vans, vans and motorhomes so was well stocked with Jack D and diet coke. Set for 3 days of "perfecting " the 1/4 mile on a stock bike.

1st run was slow , i was too busy admiring my mates 1979 Z1R special with £10k of engine internals. Beautiful bike.

2nd run traction was lowest setting and interfered too much, pop , pop, pop....

3rd run turned off all rider aids, here we go ,,loopy time. Mindfull of what a wheelie B ITCH IT can be was gentle on launch ran at 11 seconds at 142 mph. This is what i'd run on zx12r ,,there was alot of room for improvement. Coming down return lane to start line relaxed , happy. 30 mph bike hit a bump , surged , I held on , surged again!!!! hit divot bike launched again , all in took about two seconds, now doing 60 upside down into metal fence. Didn't even have time to THINK " OH ****. "

Wiitness said i went into fence bike came through after me , i landed bike, landed and it rained plastics. The scrutineer said in ten years he had never seen anything like it , 160 mph crashes looked less damaging. All round general dis belief I survived.

Hospital said I won't ride again due to shoulder blade in pieces, they don't know what I'm like. It was 24 days ago I can already crack one out with my right arm . I have typed all this with my left hand though. Its a very good mind exercise using your "weaker" arm to do things you don't normally do.

When you said 'yolk'...I thought you meant the front end(tripletree). So it's the REAR area and side there that're toast.Okay.Not TOO bad then...but bad enough.Unless you DID mean the front? That'd be very not cool.

Sorry..I'm on lag here...just read this last post of yours...GEEZ.So pretty much all the plastics got trashed? How about the tank? After your description...I can't see that getting off scott free.

You mentioned the throttle response deal.Yep...I know what ya mean.I was cruising along...nice mellow ride.I stood up on the pegs to adjust my package.I'm there holing onto the grip...and you know...with the other hand. She hit a small dip or something...f'n lashed right out!Caught her before anything got seriously outta shape. But after that...I readjusted my throttle grip outward against the bar end some...that stopped that.

Oh...and you WILL ride again...no question there;)

IT went end over end . Front as bad as back. Hence streetfighter. Will be making custom top yoke to take Renthal bars. Engine appears untouched !

As long as you're happy, but I don't really like the look of that vertical exhaust. I'm up for interesting mods, this one just doesn't hit the nail on the head for me.

Ok so you were at a speed event but at the time of the accident you were not racing and were between runs and this can be proven not only by witnesses but also by the Data logger that's fitted to the H2 and will record speed , throttle position and other things I can't remember ( read your hand book it's all in there ) at the time of the crash , if possible do NOT turn on your ignition all this information may be lost.
Is that not worth a shot for an insurance claim ? If it come off I will be expecting a beer !

Sounds like a possibility to me...they don't know what you were doing prior to this happening..I mean...they could see it probably(if some smart guy added his .02 cents worth to bring it up)...but it wasn't happening at the time of yer getoff.I'd give it a shot;)

Sorry ,,No beer for you. Wasn't insured fully comp. My old bike , which i still have, is faster than H2 and up till now haven't had issues. I have 3 cats and they are not insured, saved over £3k so far. I am very fatalistic. I got 4000 miles up so just over £5 a mile, not excellent value but I bet alot of people would pay £500 to do 100 miles on a H2.
