Thanks for the post.

Again, absolutely awesome precision and technology in every aspect.

Definitely, I am going to have to break open the Piggy Bank!
Great video, it helps to see them point out some stand out things about the bike.
Whoever is in charge of social media and video production at Kawasaki has been a busy
guy.

One thing that is being talked about is the aluminum airbox instead of a carbon fiber airbox that most race bikes come with. It will be interesting to hear about why they made this decision since the rest of the bike uses so much carbon fiber.

Becuase mechanically the H2 and H2R will be nearly identical. The differences are likely to be the fairing and state of tune, aluminium airboxes are more cost efficient than an out and out race bike setup. After all, even H2R is not technically a race bike...

But they used carbon fiber on so much else on the bike, and it really doesn't seem like keeping costs down was a priority. They went through so much with the fins and such that I'm surprised they didn't also go all out with the airbox. I don't care that much but I think it is a weird choice on Kawasaki's part.

Carbon fiber is way more costly than aluminum and the airbox isn't seen when the bike is fully assembled. The beauty of the carbon fiber weave would be wasted on a usually unseen airbox.

If it lowers the cost of my H2 even slightly to use aluminum, I'm all for it... there also may be engineering reasons as well.

They are probably using aluminum for the cooling properties.
I don't see any intercooling after the supercharger compresses the air, so shedding heat and cooling the intake charge is a concern.

not to mention the internal stresses of pumping highly pressurized air into a CF airbox. Aluminium will suffer less fatigue over its lifetime than CF, the minute flexing will eventually wear the weave out.

We don't have KRT mechs at our beck and call, longevity had to of been a concern...
You cannot beat the look of carbon fiber. I don't know if the front fender, and side fairings are paint coated carbon, or plastic? Does anyone know for sure?

We will find out very soon.....:nerd:
