How are the dealers handling this? Do you get a vin and updated as to production position? Any guaranty that you will get one at all? Guaranteed first-come first served? Price guaranty?
Not to stir up trouble but I would be concerned that some dealers might alter priorities sorta under the table. Pay more, get sooner with no one the wiser.

From how I understand it, so long as you have your order in before a certain date you're guaranteed one...

Yup...building to order slot.Date wise I mean.The dealer sends in the deposit payment...Kawasaki verifies it through him...and that starts the process.NOBODY actually KNOWS how many of these are gonna be produced...I heard 500 for the H2R version.But the street?However many they can get orders for...before that deadline.Could be well above 500.(that's why it's CRITICAL that timing of releases and performance figures are happening at the right time with this model).I think the fact that it's supercharged is really going to limit sales for it.A track guy can't use it(professionally I mean).But at the dragstrip...oh yeah...it's definitely got a place.You WILL get one if you've ordered one.This could be very similar to the 14 release...you know,back in 06.Two years they got feedback from riders...and watched how guys were 'modding' these to increase performance...then they came out with a revamped 14...in 08...then again in 2012...major update.I think this H2 is gonna be possibly staged that way also...the main 'drawback' is that it's supercharged...that's gonna limit it's use....they'll have to come up with something if they want to mass produce these.MAYBE...a whole new category of 14's?IDK...a possible way to turn off the supercharger?The motor itself fits in fine with the literbike class...
