Phill,
Just to clarify.....so your bike has arrived at the dealer - gathered that. But now are they getting it ready for you and then picking it up tomorrow is that the case? You must be sooooo excited! :D
Can't wait to hear what you think after your first ride. Something I noticed with mine, it felt particularly tight (engine and chassis) compared to other new bikes I had. I feel because of the quality and fitment this was normal. Only now after a few thousand kms it's starting to feel smoother and better.
IF you ever want to link up or stuck about something give me a yell I am only couple hours away can come over give you a hand. I have a van I use for my track bike, I could always chuck my H2 in there come out for the day...:)
Also....any idea when Terry's beast is arriving?

Jeffro,

Terry's bike is the other box behind mine in the photos.
Terry was there and we both got to unbox our bikes.:)
Yes, dealer is doing the rego thing and other stuff today and I pick it up about 1:30 Friday arvo (only one more sleep, if I sleep).:D
Terry and I were discussing coming to Sydney after the first service has been knocked over and meeting up for a little putt around.;)
Terry has to go away and is unable to pick his up until next Tuesday.:crying:
I am going to knock off work early on Tuesday and meet Terry when he picks up his bike and go for a short spin together.>:D
I restore old bikes as hobby, so not to bad with a spanner, thanks for the offer and your always welcome to come down for a ride anytime.
I sometimes get to Eastern Creek and Wakefield park with my track bike, so may get a chance to meet up at one of those sometime.
Look forward to catching up, just got to find a way to Sydney without going on the Hume(erless) Highway.

Oh I see, I didn't notice the other box there.
Hey Terry just noticed your post above, missed it this morning. I suppose you can't wait til Tuesday either!

Yeh no worries after your first service and decide to come I can meet up with you and show you a great ride up North of Sydney, across Berowra Waters (cross the river by vehicle ferry) & through the twisties where I go. There's a couple of biker friendly cafes up there (Pie in the Sky & Old Road Cafe) where we can chill, have coffee and check out all the other bikes that come along. Only thing you have to watch the Highway Patrols up there....
The next time your going to Wakefield and particularly Eastern Creek let me know I will try and meet up with you...
Good luck with your bike...your gonna LOVE IT!

And so..... give us an account? Congratulations by the way...:D
Jeffro ;)
Jeffro,

First ride was only half a k from the dealer to work in a 50km/h area, so not much to report from that.

Second ride was from work to home through afternoon traffic, so no opportunity to enjoy the bike during that.

Installed evotech tail tidy today and had to get the wife to drive me to work to pick up the work ute, so no ride this morning.

Had to load up the ute and trailer for a vintage trail bike ride tomorrow, but still managed to take the bike for 100k spin on some of the back (quiet) roads this arvo. What a lot of fun this thing is.

Still got to do a couple of adjustments to the suspension, rear a little soft and bouncy so more rebound and a little more preload and compression. Front a little harsh on bumps so a little less compression and rebound after I set the sag and test again.

Wait till you are somewhere and you get the onlooker who says "Ohhh, thats only the H2, thats not the R model"...in a condescending tone....Thats my favorite right after "How fast have you been"

I swear I could script it.

And I reply with "Nope, its just the base model....the $26,000 thousand dollar one, and what do you ride again ? The 2001 GSXR 600 with a slipon ?"...and they usually have a blank stare.

Nice are you in Australia i live in western Australia and the kawasaki shop still not sure when they will be available?
Scott,

Both Terry and I are in Canberra, and got our bikes through Canberra Motorcycle Centre.

We had the same with CMC not being able to tell us when the bikes were going to arrive.

Scott,

Has the autoblip, ohlins rear shock, Bosch IMU and a couple of other differences to the 2016 that I can't remember at the moment.

My thoughts. Been out riding it and loving it. Put the first 500km on it and am amazed at how easily the bike handles for its size around the corners. The ohlins work really well (especially around some of the goat tracks that pass for roads around Canberra). Haven't noticed the traction control kicking in overtly but know that it hasn't been pushed too hard because of the double demerit points for the Easter weekend. The quick shifter up and down works really smoothly.
Can't wipe the grin off my face and I tend to think my other bikes might not get much attention for a while.
Getting the expel paint protection put on on Tue Wed this week so can relax about not scratching the paint.
