Delivery delay - it's one of two things.

So one of two things has happened with this delivery delay;

They're replacing the head gasket, cam and clutch on the H2 with something capable of handling 14k rpms and giving buyers the bike they led everyone to believe they were getting before the great letdown of 2015 began.

Or

They realize what a hype-filled joke they've created and want to deliver all of the bikes at nearly the same time to avoid a glut of refusals and cancellations after the first round of deliveries start dyno'ing at 185rwhp.

Either way that BS letter I got from Kawasaki was the most nonsensical lie they've told yet. A child could tell it was another lie. Which also reminds me, no January deliveries = another verified lie told by big green. Haven't they ever heard of under promise, over deliver? Hey Kawi, you're doing it backward.

its a shame indeed that the promises are not kept ---> delivery

but all we can do is wait
i will be verry happy when the bike will be in my hands :)
for me its a paece of art and history

even if he as 'only' 210 hp ...

i am happy enough with that :)

dont be mad h2r ... afterall it will be a nice bike with some finetuning and stuff :)

cheers willem

"Either way that BS letter I got from Kawasaki was the most nonsensical lie they've told yet"...I don't see how it's a lie.they said..because of demand. They're talking about the existing orders.Anyone KNOW how many were sold?No...only Kawasaki knows this.It was a LOT...more than most thought.WORLDWIDE.
Do I think they 'might' be upgrading the motor some?I think it's very possible. To do this on all the existing built bikes...yes...it would create a delay. That's not so hard to picture.I doubt they'd come right out with the whole world of regulations watching and say..."Oh,by the way guys,we've just made your engine's outputs to hit 275HP...cheers".

If it's just an ECU adjustment deal...it would still take some time for every NOW built bike to be reset.I'm good with that letter.I think it was clear enough to help guys not worry about their purchase.Look at the Panagale....6 recalls. Most about serious issues.Kawasaki doesn't want anything like that happening with THIS bike.
I read this post - then deleted it from my brain hoping that no one would respond. Same with another similar post. It's useless, pointless and just an ongoing rant that has ruined this forum. One guy, endless rant. I need this in my life. NOT.

Crap like this should just die on the branch.

OR you could just not read it. Unless of course you've been kidnapped and your hostage takers are forcing you to participate in every thread. That said, I'm not the one ruining anything - Kawasaki over promising and massively under delivering is what's causing this. They don't like it next time they should try less snake oil and more honesty. I'm seriously not the one you should be mad at.

And Silverbird - just flashing the ECU will fix nothing. In fact, I bet you anything you like that if left unmodified, the bike will come with a grave warning about tampering with the factory settings. You can't pile on fuel and air in a blown motor without making accommodation for the added volume and pressure. That's why the R has a different cam and head gasket. Hear me now believe me later - just flashing the ECU will be a death sentence for your motor and your warranty.
kawasaki in Italy has been very clear and precise .. the first bikes will arrive in late March or early April .. my should be one of priime .. hopefully good

considering the type of bike it is, im sure they're treating everything about it up to some standard, or at least i hope they are, i mean it's what should be the case with a flagship product.
Interesting reads. Clearly something just ain't right in bean town skippy. Kawasaki should do the right thing. Give us all the H2R performance we want and deserve in a street bike legal setup. By the way this would do exactly what Kawasaki wants too, that is, blow every other bike off the street and track.
We know it's possible. Make all the other Manufactures cry, if you can. It is hard to believe the company could just stand back and listen to all the crap they have started just by missing delivery dates.

Did you get a delivery date? I have yet to get one. I wouldn't mind one though.

Same as I have heard for the UK - even to the extent of being '99% certain' that at least one, if not boh, of the H2's we have sold will be with us by mid April for an open day we have planned :)
FWIW, my dealer has given zero indication of delivery. I expect it in late March or early April - but that time frame is completely fabricated in my own mind based on conjecture and flat out guessing. Oh, and that's about when winter will be all gone, so there's a fair bit of that applied to 'my' schedule.

Well, if you had actually ordered one, Kawasaki sent an email and a letter both stating January delivery in the US. Stop being an apologist.

In Canada I received no such email, nor letter stating any delivery dates whatsoever, just FYI.
Gentlemen I just watched San Francisco KTVU channel 2 news. the west coast port strike is actually a huge problem, it has been ongoing for seven months, In Oakland Ca Eighteen huge container ships are anchored offshore and cannot even get into port. Fresh food is rotting, nothing is getting through, nothing. The number of containers in port unloaded, sitting going nowhere would stretch 170 miles. That is un believable. If your bike, my bike is one of these boats it isn't going anywhere fast. The problem I have is our bikes are on one of these boats, Kawasaki should tell us this is the problem. The lack of communication from kawasaki is what pisses me off. The BS line in the letter does not hold any water. The KTVU website might have more info, or Google west coast port backlog.

Guys I just double checked the website, Home - KTVU - there is a video report. It is worth your time to take a look. Also there are articles on Google dating back to October. The report is un beleiveable. Make up your own mind, if your in the US this is probably it.

This is most likely what really is happening. Thanks for the update on this...;)Gonna be some intereseting posts from some here if this is the case...so much for.."hey,something's wrong with the bike"...;)Perhaps(if)this is the case...Kawasaki doesn't want to stir up a hornet's nest by blaming the US port for this delay...???Thus...no blame for it...in a letter.Maybe someone could call the home office and just plain ASK the rep about this deal?

Very interesting... but the delay in H2 deliveries is essentially GLOBAL. ;)

I have talk to the Kawi canada sale rep at the head office two week ago (not the dealer) and she told me that delivery in Canada should start in april. I am 9 on the 34 to be deliver.
"Very interesting... but the delay in H2 deliveries is essentially GLOBAL."...well,perhaps.We still don't really know...for sure that is.They could start shipping any time really. They've been building these since before November.Anticipating sales.Whatever the deal is...it's possible that the first ones who ordered COULD have their bikes sent considering any 'upgrades' may very well have been done already.IF that's what's the holdup. If a guy was told 'March'..and his bike arrives in February...how would that go over?Pretty darn good IMO.

And we really have NO idea where these finished bikes are going.First I mean.We don't know how many were at the beginning of 'first come first served'.I KNOW mine has got to be right there...I ordered it that morning when it was opened up.The Factory got my confirmation info right there at the dealer's.I was there when it happened.

YAY! I have no idea where I am on the list but it's interesting to see that Canada has likely sold 34. Nice number. Not too many.

BTW, I didn't get a letter from Kawasaki, the dealer - no one. Truth is I didn't even visit the dealer when I bought my bike. All by phone and e-mail. I've bought several motorcycles from my dealer so they know me, and I know them.

I"ll e-mail my dealer today and see if he has any information on expected delivery.
