G'day All!

I'm Don from Down Under, have a brand new left over 2015 H2 on order, (last one in Aust. I believe) should be in the local dealer's by end of April.

Been lurking on the forum for the past year, so have got a lot of useful info for future mods and what to look out for with maintenance/servicing etc. I see there are a few other Aussies on here, not sure if any in South Aust. though.

At the moment I have already got the Evotech tail tidy and radiator guard, have been looking into paint protection - the only option where I live is to get a pre-cut stencilled 3M kit that covers virtually all the bodywork plastics, as no local automotive place here that specialises in professional fitting (that I can find anyway).

The bike will come with the Akrapovic slip on as part of the dealer package, but I have already contacted Vandemon and discussed their new polished H2R replica exhaust - looks similar to Stradale's hand polished exhaust that I can tell, but will see! Also looking at the Sprint air filter.

I'm aware of the potential frame rust spot in the bracing gusset on the 2015 so will look out for that and attend as needed. And also aware of the rear wheel/axle mounting issue where members have noticed a loosening of the wheel possibly due to the inner securing nut not being tight enough!

This bike will be company for my A1 zx12r (with 1287 kit), and will be taking it to Phillip Island for my yearly 2 day track ride in November - can't wait!

Anyway I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the future - very informative site with noted professional advice (Brock etc.).

Cheers,

Don.

Don,
Hi mate welcome to the forum! That 2015 you ordered is that the one that was up in Darwin Northern Territory? If it is I was interested in that one last November and was offered a super deal, but decided getting one locally here in Sydney instead and went for the 16 anyway.
Looks like your already pretty well informed, yeh this forum has plenty of info.
When do you expect to get the bike?
Cheers mate

Jeffro, yep the one from Holeshot Kawasaki Darwin, getting it sent to S.A.Kawasaki near me (the only H2/H2R dealer in S.A. I believe).

Also got a good deal on it, and was going to get it sent down myself, but I would have to then get it inspected pre-registration etc. so the cost was about the same as getting the local dealer to get it down and do the rego etc.

The dealer here will do Woolich mapping on the ECU, and are fitting Vandemon exhausts to other owner's H2's - if I get one I'll put it on myself as I like to have as much hands-on as possible. They are heavily involved in the Aust. racing scene with bikes in Superbike and the Ninja 300 series.

Yeh right, from memory I think they offered it to me for 32K then when I refused ( as I got even a better deal on the 16) they went to 30K the next day. By the time I brought it 4500kms from Darwin with transport costs and rego I didn't worry about it. Anyway that's history now, I am happy with what I got and I am sure you will be happy with yours!
Keep us updated...

Welcome Don.

Holeshot did a great deal for me too. Better customer service than I could get locally in my own state and couldn't fault Nathans professionalism.

I shipped my 4,200km's to get it home and would do it all again if I had to.

malh2, the 3M kit is $312 delivered, I would likely have a go at it myself but if I don't feel confident will find someone else.

Nahj_H2, yep Nathan seems a good bloke, when my local dealer sorted out getting it shipped between shops, they had to buy it off Holeshot first, Nathan wouldn't let them get it for more than he offered to me so the price would be kept as low as possible - $29,500 Aus. And yes after getting it transported down to S.A. it would cost close to the same as me doing it but without the headache of inspection etc. Total cost comes in at $33,380 Aus. but may be less depending on final transport cost.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!

Well, just picked the bike up 2 hours ago, done about 66kms/41miles on the long way home, which included hills ride with twisties and a few straights. Bike feels very planted at the front, instant drive from low. Notchy gear shift (to be expected), throttle is touchy but I actually don't find it too sensitive at the moment, probably used to my 2000 A1 zx12r which was known for being on/off with throttle.

Suspension is stock at the moment but I find it fairly good without touching it yet - I'm about 6'2" and 98kg/216lbs kitted up. Going to adjust the clutch/brake levers to rotate forward/down a tad for comfort if I can. Stock muffler is large but quiet - I have a TT3 H2R replica exhaust on order (comes with DNA filter and OEM copper header washer). Fitting Evotech tail tidy and radiator guard soon.

No pics yet as everyone has seen a bog stock 2015 H2 already.

Congratulations mate enjoy the new bike!
Yeh of course it will take a while for it to run in and smoothen out. Mine has about 3 k on it now and it's just starting to feel real sweet :D
Just a tip on suspension you are probably at the high limit in as far as weight and size for the bike. I am similar in size to you 6ft and 95 kgs , the bike (mine anyway - I am assuming yours will have exact same spring rates) from what I gather is set up for a lighter rider/s. To get the correct sag figures I have got maximum front and back preload set to achieve around 34 mm front and about 43mm rear. Both these are within the ratios that most would feel satisfactory for road riding which is around the 28-33% range, being full suspension travel front is 119 and rear 135mm.
Really I think I need just slightly stiffer spring rates and then would be able to have preload set in a more "middle of the road " setting, but for now and for my style riding it's ok and adequate. I am about to change tyres so I am thinking with the slower tipping in and turning my preload settings have given me, I can try get a circumference of tyre and profile tyre to bring back that little bit quicker steering that I like. I am looking at the Michelin Power RS to achieve that. I really don't want to start changing fork tube height or rear height otherwise......
Hope this helps you a bit and good luck with your bike! :)

Thanks Jeffro, yes I usually sort out the suspension on my bikes, will use your setup as a starting guide and go from there - about 1/3rd travel.
