216 MPH in 6th @ 14K

It's in that promo video. The last frame of the bike accelerating at :32 there is one frame showing 216 in 6th at 14K. Honestly that's a little lower than I'd expected but still, nice to see the shift light isn't on like it would be on the 10R @ full tilt in 6th.

The bike in the vid is the H2R - does anyone know if the gearing is the same on both bikes?

Two teeth less on the rear sprocket on the H2R other then that it is all the same
Seriously though...he's hitting 14K...but he still has a bunch more to go...I think they didn't want to show any further than that.Like saying...'197 HP"....

Where'd you get the gearing? Do you know how many teeth there are? Like to figure out the percentages.
Isn't it 18 up front and 42 rear?I know Gadson mentioned it in one of his videos where he talked about changing the gearing...and wasn't too successful with it performance wise(wheelying and such)

If it's 2 teeth on 42 that means either 226mph or 206 for the H2 vs the H2R depending on whether they're adding or taking away. Are we sure which it is? Which did he start with? 40, 42 or 44. Will do some digging.

"I ran the H2's gearing through my gearing spreadsheet and with the stock gearing, the bike will run 210 mph at 14,000 rpm. I guess the H2R has much different gearing to hit the 250 mph number that has been tossed around."

This is from my earlier post. I recalculated the H2R for a "theoretical" 220mph. Tire slip, wind, & air conditions will cause this to vary. It will not go faster unless the gearing is changed or you can pull more than 14,000 rpm. Anyone who wants an Excel spreadsheet can PM me for a copy. Be sure to provide your regular e-mail address.

Awesome. Thanks!

So busted out the calculator and it looks like the H2R is 216mph with the 42 and the H2 is 208-209 with the 44. The video is accurate.

You can do it yourself here:

Motorcycle gear/rpm/speed calculator
(BTW if you use this tool the driving drive numbers are transposed so you'll have to put them in 16/51 rather than 51/16 as above)

That said, it seems there will be plenty of power to run pretty much any rear gear you like. Kinda wish 6th had more legs though. I've already been over 200 a couple times. Was hoping to see what north of 230 looked like…oh well, just need a 40 tooth rear I guess. >:D

You have been gps verified 200mph?? I know the new 14r has a speedo thatgoes close if not that high. But.. It's very inaccurate though.. But you probly know that but just sayin.
The 14R speedo has been set at the factory to read 3mph high..on the dial...in all rpms. Not like the earlier versions.Accurately.If it's reading 70 on the speedo...it's actually doing 67mph.They removed the % inaccuracies with it.It's possible the H2 has a similar setup...???

201.3 GPS verified. Took almost 2 miles to get it up that fast. I did it more than once. See, first you do it for yourself and no one believes you, then you have to do it again. Then you have to do it in both directions because some a-hole decided that would be the rules. Moral of the story, the 2000 ZX-12R was absolutely capable. The completely useless speedo was showing way past 340KM/h. Although I was going about 20mph slower, it was fun to look at very, very briefly. Past 150 it is all kinda the same except for the numbers; the wind noise is deafening, head vibrates like it's being dragged down a dirt road and that road you thought was straight for 2 miles actually has a couple of turns in it.

Hopefully motorcycle religion doesn't violate forum rules but I consider runs like that extremely life-affirming. You're giving God an open door to punch your card, but when He doesn't it's like a pat on the back letting you know you He still wants you around.

Service manual for the H2 confirms 18/44 gearing
Service manual for the H2 confirms 18/44 gearing
Is it hard copy or digital? (You see where I'm going with this)? :D

On the Kawasaki Canadian site in the technical spec.
TO add onto of those specs the manual also states:

Overall Drive Ratio - 5.110 at top gear
The above ratios are the same in the service manual
Dude you'd have to a gun to my head to get me on that 12r I wasnt a fan. For straight lines though it was good. I had a '99 zx9r. Went like **** but couldn't turn.. I just hear bs about people going 300 mph and I always take with a grain of salt. I was curious to see if you'd argue about the speedo thing that would be telling in its own right. I did 180ish (analog speedo) indicated and I'd be surprised if I broke 160 165. That was in the 9r. Of course I looked at your bike list and the only one there that could come close was that 12 and I knew the speedo was WAY off so that why i asked. I like the super bikes, they have mad balls for straight but can turn when a corner comes up. Having said that they do lean forward for turn in and that's not great for straight line speed the h2 and 14R are more level from front to back. I messed up and bought my jacket too big so 130 is literally pulling me off the back of the bike. I have a pretty big head and wear a lg helmet but I'm thinking I should be cramming into a m to keep wind out
