Yes they did the managing director responded over the weekend.
He quickly sent me another muffler, it should get here Wednesday or Thursday.
He is paying for shipping to get the faulty muffler back and do some R&D to see as to why it happened

WOW that is a real failure! one we have never ever been presented with in fact, we have never had a failure of this magnitude at worst it’s been a incorrectly jigged pipe or a blemish, but this is out there. Your bike is not the culprit so don’t worry about this, without dissecting the part to ascertain for sure we suspect that the Ti slotted sleeve is not butt joined correctly at the entry of the muffler and that exhaust gas under high pressure and heat has been able to enter the baffled section and caused the sound deadening material to super heat and melt thus blowing out.

Vandemon customer response is S++
He even explained why it would even happen. I’m
So glad it’s being resolved because I love the exhaust. It’s super sexy on the h2
And only other option is stock H2r exhaust and that thing it is $7300 smh
h2madness! and D.Kinsey like this.

Garage
Good to read that Vandemon have replaced the muffler. I expect they are keen to see the damage for themselves.

I was giving this some thought and wondered if it was caused by a combination of heat and popping on the overrun. We've all seen that the H2's decel-pop with considerable force and there might be enough energy when this happens in a muffler which is already glowing cherry red and weakened to blow a hole. The heat on it's own shouldn't be enough unless the material was sub-standard.

I have an Austin racing Muffler! The primary baffle got so hot it lost it's strength and the one end of it collapsed causing 3/4" (20mm) end play and it just rattled around, sounded terrible.

Wow 😂 so
The first to break a vandemon smh 🏽

Yea I’ve heard of Austin racing coming apart sometimes on r1s n bmws

Yea that’s what the manager said that it was probably due to faulty materials not meshed probably. And that he never seen that before.
I’m not even gonna say it’s cuz it’s the 19 or otherwise cuz there are dudes here pushing 300+ hp to the wheels and that has to be the true test there.
Maybe there is a break in period???

I love Austin! It is the best exhaust for s1000rr! and to the r1 and aprilia it looks perfect!
but it has nothing to do in an h2!
only 2 escapes should put the h2 brocks or vandemon the rest is useless!

I had to repack my TT3 muffler twice. Came apart pretty easy. The H2 flamethrower burned up the packing several times.
