2016 H2 vs 2017 H2 - worth the price difference?

Hi,

I am considering the purchase of new H2 and was wondering if the upgrades to the 2017 H2 were worth the price increase over the 2016 H2?

So far, the best price on a new 2016 H2 is $22.5K + tax.

I am not sure how flexible dealers will negotiate on a 2017 H2. Is anyone getting deals on a 2017?

Thanks.

NO! there are NONE in the country yet, dealers are taking pre-orders, it's a special order item and it would be highly unlikely you could expect a discount.

Next question, is it worth the price difference.. that is subjective. To me the answer is yes, the '17 comes with the zx10r ECU electronics which was developed in World Superbike. These improved electronics include LEAN ANGLE MANAGEMENT which makes for a MUCH smarter & more effective traction control, and it also comes with AUTO BLIP which is clutchless down shifts, and the new/improved Ohlins shock. All 3 of these items would be really important to me as a roadracer so that's why it's worth the extra $$ to me. You have to decide based on your use. The '17 also comes with the green-painted frame, UGG! (sorry '15 owners, I love the silver frame).

I agree with Racer172.

If I was in the market I would be having trouble making the decision as well but I typically like to buy the newest product out so I don't end up having to work down the road.

In my case, I've already done so much work/tuning on my bike that it wouldn't really make sense. However, if Brock or the other 'powers that be' come out with a package that will retro-fit the newest electronics then I'll probably be all over it.

I will be getting that Ohlins shock though whether I get the new electronics package or not.

2017 standard H2 has still silver frame. Carbon H2 and H2R have green frame.

I suppose if you have got H2 money then go for the 2107 model

Ok, its got the updated gizmo's which will always affect buying choice, but it depends what your using it for, for the track, then yes, for a tootle up the road, its just bragging rights

Whichever way you go you wont be disappointed

Are you sure? I think think all '17s have the green frame from what I've seen.

Hey there in Australia as far as I can tell the price difference is around $2000. If I was in the market I think the extra features definetly are worth the extra money.
But if it meant getting a green frame (yuk) I would stick with the 16. Somehow looks more classy and sophisticated ha! And here are more refined.
If the 17 is in fact silver it would be a huge consideration
Either way you can't go wrong!

I think the 2017 improvements have resolved a problem which caused some debate about the 2015 bike.

I mean the IMU: There was a lot of discussion and some misunderstanding about the early bike's KTC which some thought was also an anti-wheelie control. (No, it isn't)

The 2017 bike now has it, along with the other goodies mentioned by Racer172. I think it's good value for money even with the price increase.

To appreciate the beauty of the green frame, needs to be seen it in the sun. Green is not my favorite color, if it was just green it wouldn't work for me but the way the candy green metallic paint on the frame looks outside & how it compliments the green metallic stickers on the fairing/cowl is really amazing looking especially on the original slick 2015 silver-mirror paint finish.
